Bradley Schaeffer

Chief Executive Officer and Principal Broker

Bradley Schaeffer is the CEO and co-founder of INFA Energy Brokers, LLC. In this role he leads the firm’s deal-making activities, including developing new derivatives instruments for the energy space. These include INFA’s pioneering variance swaps.

Brad started in 1989 as a clerk then trader of Eurodollar options on the floor of Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME). He subsequently traded oil and distillates on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX), equity options on the American Stock Exchange (AMEX), and was an OTC oil trader for Texaco.  Brad was an OTC energy broker for various institutions before co-founding INFA in 2006.

Brad holds a B.A. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In his spare time he exercises his creativity as a screenplay writer and prolific blogger on a variety of topics – from pop culture, music, television and films to more serious political, Constitutional and military history.  His first novel, Hummel’s Cross, the fictional story of a German fighter pilot who risks everything to save a family of Jews from the Nazis, was released in summer 2010.  

Brad is a frequent commentator on energy topics on top-rated shows on Fox Business News, Fox News, CNBC and other networks, and is a guest columnist at prestigious business news sites including Zero Hedge and CNBC’s NetNet.

Fakhar Jahangir

Chief Financial Officer

Fakhar currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer and has held various roles within the firm since its inception. He is responsible for managing all Financial, Accounting, Regulatory Compliance, Admistrative, Benefits and HR functions within the company. He is also actively involved as one of the key management team members that work to expand the company in the North East US region. Fakhar is also a founder of a reputable Computer Trading Firm in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Mr. Jahangir attended Oklahoma State University where he received his Masters of Science in International Business and Economics with Honors. He also holds a BS degree in Management Information Systems.

John D. Griffin

Commodities Group

Working out of our West Coast office (San Anselmo, CA), "J.D." has a long and respected career in trading. starting with the CME in 1989, and OTC equity trading in both Europe and the Pacific Rim. He later entered the energy space as a volatility trader with El Paso Europe Ltd., London. He has also structured/managed energy portfolios for Dominion Resources, Inc, Richmond, VA and then with Citigroup Global Commodities, Houston, TX. 

J.D. is the latest edition to INFA's growing team of natural gas options/swaps and exotics brokers.  He holds an MBA from William & Mary and an undergraduate degree from Eastern Illinois University.
