Bradley Schaeffer

Bradley Schaeffer is the CEO and co-founder of INFA Energy Brokers, LLC. In this role he leads the firm’s deal-making activities, including developing new derivatives instruments for the energy space. These include INFA’s pioneering variance swaps.
Brad started in 1989 as a clerk then trader of Eurodollar options on the floor of Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME). He subsequently traded oil and distillates on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX), equity options on the American Stock Exchange (AMEX), and was an OTC oil trader for Texaco. Brad was an OTC energy broker for various institutions before co-founding INFA in 2006.
Brad holds a B.A. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In his spare time he exercises his creativity as a screenplay writer and prolific blogger on a variety of topics – from pop culture, music, television and films to more serious political, Constitutional and military history. His first novel, Hummel’s Cross, the fictional story of a German fighter pilot who risks everything to save a family of Jews from the Nazis, was released in summer 2010.
Brad is a frequent commentator on energy topics on top-rated shows on Fox Business News, Fox News, CNBC and other networks, and is a guest columnist at prestigious business news sites including Zero Hedge and CNBC’s NetNet.
